Weekly Chairpersons!

Britni Saunders, Director - INSPD   Oversight Chair  This year’s SECC theme, “Together We Serve”, embodies the spirit of public service at the State of Indiana. We work best when we serve together and this year’s campaign is no exception! I am thrilled to highlight nine unique charities and work with all state agencies to reach our goal of $1.6M!

Fred Payne, Commissioner - DWD   Chair for Week of September 30, 2019   Charity of Choice: Down Syndrome Indiana   The State Employees’ Community Campaign is a great way to pay it forward and we are choosing Down Syndrome of Indiana - a wonderful organization doing great work throughout the year. The State Employees’ Community Campaign is a great way to pay it forward and we are choosing Down Syndrome of Indiana - a wonderful organization doing great work throughout the year. While participation is voluntary, I hope many of you will consider helping us in supporting such a worthy cause.

Charity of Choice: GiGi’s Playhouse

As thousands of state employees come together through the SECC to serve charities each year, they collectively embody the 2019-20 theme -Together We Serve. I am excited to be part of an amazing group of people and to have the opportunity to serve alongside them as a Chairperson for this year’s campaign.

Dr. Kristina Box, Commissioner - ISDH   Chair for Week of October 14, 2019   Charity of Choice: Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana   When you’re worried about putting food on the table or keeping the lights on, things like doctor’s appointments and taking care of yourself often fall off the priority list. By making Gleaners a SECC charity of choice, the Indiana State Department of Health hopes to give more Hoosiers access to nutritious foods so they can focus on living their healthiest lives.

Now I’ve been given an opportunity to be a Chairperson for SECC, and I’m excited to raise the interest level and help direct funds to fight cancer.

Rob Carter, Commissioner - DOC   Chair for Week of November 25, 2019   Charity of Choice: Correctional Professional Assistance Fund of Indiana (CPAFI)   Having the honor to serve as a Chairperson for SECC allows me to encourage others to give back, and promote benevolent organizations like the Correctional Professional Assistance Fund of Indiana (CPAFI), which provides not only semi-annual scholarship opportunities, but immediate financial assistance to correctional professionals dealing with the aftermath of devastating events such as fire, flood, tornado, or illness.
